About the LCSB
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary, and together we contribute to science and society.
Your role
The Science Communicator will contribute to big and small science communication and outreach projects within the whole spectrum of the LCSB's activities. The candidate will assist in:
- Translate scientific activities and results into communication activities tailored to the different stakeholder groups
- Researching, reporting, and writing of science stories and other communication material about the LCSB's research programs, events and staff
- Collaborating on internal communication campaigns
- Contribution to organization of outreach events and conferences
- Maintenance of websites, intranet and social media channels
- Contribute to site visits and laboratory tours
Your profile
- Higher education degree in one of LCSB's research disciplines: biology, medicine, physics, (bio)informatics, or mathematics etc
- First outreach or communication experience
- Understands complex ideas and data and is able to translate them for multiple audiences
- Excellent spoken and written command of English and German
- Capability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
The following is considered an asset:
- An additional degree in communication/journalism
- Knowledge of computer applications for publishing, image handling, and/or web production
- Additional languages
