We look for candidates keen to work in an interdisciplinary environment and open to collaborating with researchers from other disciplines, particularly online deception, human factors, and quantitative security analysis. The position is linked to the Interdisciplinary Research Group in Socio-technical Cybersecurity (IRiSC-https://irisc-lab.uni.lu/) within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg.
The position is initially funded for two years (with a probation period of six months) and may be extended up to five years following positive evaluation and commitment. It will be linked to an international collaboration project title. "Fake Activity Market Observation System of Unethical Services".
Your role
Depending on the ambition and abilities, in addition to being involved in the group's research on data protection and socio-technical security design and analysis, the candidate can have the opportunity to develop their research project and to engage in interdisciplinary scientific work with the community of researchers of the University.
Successful candidates are expected to participate in the following activities:
- Conduct highly innovative research in cybersecurity and fake news analysis
- Publish research results and present them at international conferences
- Contribute to reports activities in support of project management
- Guide and co-supervise PhD or M.Sc. students
- Contribute to teaching in Cybersecurity courses
Your profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in Socio-technical threats and attacks, deception and social engineering, and disinformation analysis.
Academic:
- A PhD in Cybersecurity, Engineering Psychology. in [FIELD(S)]
- Experience in experimental research and ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research
Communication Skills:
- Proficiency in written and oral English (French is considered an advantage)
- Good academic writing
- Excellent communication skills
- Unquestionable research ethics conduct
Organizational and Personal:
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to independently organize work
- Inquisitive mind and critical thinking
