The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.

The DHML coordinates all teaching programmes in Life Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, and Midwifery, integrating basic, translational, molecular, and computational research focused on human health and disease. The department collaborates closely with national healthcare centres and leading international research institutions.

As part of our ongoing expansion in medical and health sciences education, we are seeking a motivated Education Programme Specialist in Midwifery to join our team on a part-time basis (50% FTE).

Your role

The Education Programme Specialist will report to the Programme Director and play a key role in the development, implementation, and coordination of our newly established Bachelor in Midwifery Sciences programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver teaching in specialised clinical midwifery topics according to your expertise, including participation in simulation-based education and practical placements
  • Develop teaching materials and assist in course preparation, student assessment, and programme evaluation
  • Collaborate with adjunct professors and contribute to harmonising teaching practices across the programme
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and revision of the Bachelor in Midwifery programme, ensuring the alignment of curriculum, pedagogical practices, clinical placements, and assessment methods with contemporary evidence-based clinical practice
  • Conduct administrative duties related to the daily operation of the midwifery programme as needed

Your profile

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in Midwifery, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related health discipline, with a first degree, Bachelor's or equivalent, in Midwifery
  • Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience as a midwife within an EU country is essential
  • Experience in midwifery education, including theoretical, practical and simulation-based teaching
  • Up-to-date knowledge and continuing professional development in relevant fields such as breastfeeding, sexual health, contraception, gynaecology, ultrasound, perinatal pathology, or allied areas (desirable)
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in modern educational technologies
  • Membership or active collaboration with European midwifery associations or professional bodies (desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, reliability, team spirit, and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Full proficiency in French and good knowledge of English. Knowledge of German would be an asset
