Luxembourg's health needs, basic research, and applied research are the core focuses of the Department of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences (DHML) (formerly DLSM), one of the five departments within the FSTM. As an active partner in Luxembourg's health network, the DHML trains the country's future biologists, physicians, specialized nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals. In addition, we conduct research in several areas: Signal Transduction, Cancer Cell Biology & Drug Discovery, Systems Biology, Molecular Disease Mechanisms, clinical research, and Nursing Sciences. Our researchers attract national and EU funding and contribute to top-tier scientific journals.
Your role
The job holder will play an essential role in developing the learning experiences of Medical Doctors in the process of specialization (médecin en voie de de specialisation; MEVS) and Medical students, by bridging theoretical and practical domains within healthcare settings. The person will work closely with University stakeholders, including the Programme Directors, Study Programme Administrators and Project Officers, as well as hospitals, healthcare facilities, providers, and students to ensure high quality clinical competencies of students.
Main responsabilities:
- Coordinate clinical and research internships
- Provide administrative and operational support for assigned data systems and programmes records
- Establish clinical portfolio for students
- Contribute to the establishment of academic and clinical priorities in relation to clinical teaching
- Act as point of contact between the University and all clinical fields
- Ensure quality of tools, documentations, work and relationships
- Act as contact person for internal stakeholders and external partners
- Contribute to internal cooperation and communication between internal stakeholders
- Collect information and align with internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain a network of hospitals, clinics, and/or research institurions and other related stakeholders
- Provide guidance regarding the academic programme planning and discuss academic issues which might give problems regarding the medical training progress
Your profile
- Master's degree in science or health field, or equivalent by work experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in clinical fields
- Fluency in English and French (native or equivalent level). Proficiency in Luxembourgish is a strong asset; German is considered an advantage
- Knowledge of the Luxembourgish and/or additional European healthcare systems is a strong advantage
- Management certification is an added value
- Proficient use of MS Office tools, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
- Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- A team player with a diplomatic, friendly, and service-oriented attitude
- Reliable, proactive, and flexible in responding to changing priorities
