Your role

The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Isabelle Corbisier. The doctoral researcher's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of contract law and/or company law. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The suggested theme of the PhD is to be more precisely determined between the supervisor and the candidate. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of a large research group comprising several PhDs and Postdoctoral Researchers working on related topics. Being part of the project will allow the doctoral researcher to enhance his/her knowledge-base and experience; working on the various aspects of the project will not only strengthen his/her academic profile, but also give him/her access to (and the chance to critically engage with) some of the most renowned experts in the field.

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated interest in private law. In particular, the following requirements apply:

• A Master's Degree with a focus on either contract and/or company law with an opening to comparative and/or European law
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: excellent knowledge of the French language is necessary, considering the candidate's future teaching tasks. Fluency in English is also a prerequisite and a good understanding of a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage
• Excellent communication and writing skills

The yearly gross salary for every PhD at the UL is EUR 40952 (full time).
