Your role
We offer a dynamic postdoctoral research position who will join the TruX Research Group headed by Prof. Dr. Tegawendé F. Bissyandé,within a project that leverages satellite remote sensing data to estimate carbon credits in the Sahel region. This interdisciplinary project combines advanced AI techniques with satellite image analysis to develop scalable and reliable methodologies for assessing environmental sustainability.
TruX conducts research in software security, software repair, and explainable software to create key practical solutions for developers, allowing them to achieve trustworthiness, efficiency, and transparency. Application areas include FinTech, embedded systems (e.g., mobile), business or entertainment systems, cybersecurity, and more. The successful candidate will:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in AI, remote sensing, and environmental analytics
- Develop and implement algorithms for carbon credit estimation using satellite data
- Contribute to national and international research collaborations
- Prepare project deliverables and disseminate results through high-quality scientific publications
- Present findings at renowned international conferences and workshops
- Guide and mentor PhD, MSc, and BSc students working on related topics
- Support the organization of relevant demonstrations and workshops
- Assist in drafting research proposals for securing funding

Your profile
We seek a motivated and independent researcher with strong analytical skills and a passion for interdisciplinary work.
- The candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science
- Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with applications in data analytics
- Knowledge of satellite data processing, image analysis, and remote sensing techniques
- Familiarity with carbon credit estimation or related environmental analytics is a plus
- Proficiency in a major programming language (Python or R is a plus)
- Experience in research supervision
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
- A proven publication record in relevant international conferences and journals
- Teamworking skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
