About the FSTM

The University of Luxembourg is inviting applications for a Research Facilitator (40h/week-permanent contract) to assist the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) with the coordination, management, and development of the research activities, the faculty seeks remarkable communicators, multitask-oriented, with a creative, proactive, and practical approach to problem solutions and a service-oriented mindset.

The Department of Life Sciences and Medicine (DLSM) within FSTM is dedicated to excellence in research and education in Life Sciences, Medicine, and Nursing. Its research activities integrate basic and translational approaches, as well as wet lab and computational methods to address critical questions in human health and disease, particularly cancer biology.
Your role
The Research Facilitator (RF) will strengthen the team of research facilitators at FSTM and will work closely with one existing RF to support primarily the PI's in newly established research groups in the medicine and nursing areas.
Activities/Tasks:
- to help the Faculty's researchers find, apply for, receive, and manage research funding (e.g. EU and FNR; funding process support, negotiations, budgets), including support for financial project reporting and contributing to solve IPR issues
- to support the Faculty's research activities and dissemination in academia and society
- to participate at meetings, info days, and other events
- to safeguard internal communication and cooperation within the Faculty and the University administration regarding all research-related questions

Your profile
- Degree in STEM - Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
- Background in a health-related field (medicine, nursing, life sciences or similar) or respective work experience is considered an asset
- At least 3 years in project management - preferably in research - with a proven experience in finding and managing research funding
- Service-oriented mindset, willing to provide quality service to the faculty researchers
- Efficient communication: in person and through email. Diplomacy will be a reliable asset
- Multitasking and the capability of prioritization of tasks is needed
- Proven ability to work in a team, should be willing to contribute to work-flows and team development/team efforts
- Experience in the use of common computer software and collaborative on-line platforms
- Excellent command of English and French / German. Preference will be given to candidates fluent in all languages
