Hays, the world's leading specialist recruitment company, recently published its latest study on general recruitment and pay trends in 2021: salary guide Luxembourg 2021.

Today, we decided to take a closer look at the construction sector, to see how it is evolving in the market and to take a look at the best paid jobs.

The construction sector in a nutshell: skills transfer, longevity and prosperity.

Construction

In recent years, we have witnessed a strong increase in the number of inhabitants in Luxembourg with a growth of 4% between 2018 and 2020 and 28% over the last ten years, according to the statistics portal of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. As a result, the need for construction is increasing and new projects for residential areas, single-family homes and other buildings are regularly being developed. The pattern is also repeated here in the field of public works, with the increasing number of Belgian, German and French border workers using the various road accesses every day.

Despite the health crisis, new SME are entering the market and creating new and varied recruitment needs. As for the larger companies, they are continuing their expansion by offering ever more audacious projects.

Some key figures
