We are looking for a
Technical Draftsman (m/f/d)
Integrated in a team of engineers and designers in the R&D department, you will develop new heavy-duty mechanical systems and equipment operating in the iron- and steelmaking environment to face the challenges of green steelmaking.
Furthermore, and in close collaboration with our customers, you will adapt existing solutions to their requirements. You will be involved in the technical support for various products covering the whole range of Paul Wurth technologies.
Your main tasks:
- Modelling and designing of blast furnace equipment in CAD
- Elaborating concepts for new equipment
- Creation of bills of materials, test instructions and control documents
- Execute purchase requisitions in SAP
- Preparation of technical specifications for subcontractors
- Support the team with knowledge for manufacturing and detail design
- Follow-up of manufacturing
- Perform internal prices estimations for mechanical components
- Support the commissioning activities of the designed equipment if necessary
- Design advice & optimization for cost reduction (cost-conscious design).
What do we expect?
- Technical secondary school diploma or higher technician certificate (e.g. BTS)
- At least 10 years of practical experience in the field of industrial equipment, ideally with workshop experience
- Good understanding of technical drawings, strong three dimensional imagination. Knowledge in 3D design software or AutoCad Mechanical is an asset
- Diligent, structured way of working and a good understanding of timing in complex processes
- Good level in English; for office communication French and/or German language skills are an advantage
- Ability to work in a professional and independent manner and to quickly integrate yourself in a dynamic multinational team
