The mission
OneLife is a Luxembourg life insurance company specialized in cross-border financial planning solutions for wealthy clients across Europe and beyond. To support our growth, we are looking for the right candidate to join our passionate IT Department.
The mission of the IT Operations Manager is to lead and guarantee a state-of-the-art IT Operations service, ensuring that IT service quality, system performance, and availability are fully aligned with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
The role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous evolution of IT operations, acting as a key link between IT and the business while supporting strategic objectives through robust infrastructure, modern architectures, and operational excellence.
The IT Operations Manager provides leadership, structure, and vision to the IT Operations function, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations while driving the long-term evolution of IT infrastructure.
Main objectives of the role
- Define, develop, and execute the IT Operations strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate and IT strategy.
- Lead and manage IT Operations projects, including operational and IT-related initiatives.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and quality of IT services, in compliance with agreed SLAs.
- Act as the single point of contact for operational issues and escalations, managing communication between IT and business stakeholders during incidents and problems.
- Ensure that all service requests, incidents, problems, and changes are properly tracked, documented, and managed.
- Take all necessary actions to maintain systems and applications availability, including resource planning and hiring when required, in close cooperation with the IT department manager.
- Own and manage the IT Operations budget, ensuring cost control, forecasting, and alignment with operational priorities.
- Validate and authorize change requests impacting production systems, ensuring stability and risk mitigation.
- Ensure that Disaster Recovery and Backup strategies are aligned with business requirements and are operational, tested, and documented.
- Continuously improve IT Operations processes, performance, effectiveness, and reliability through structured improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external IT service providers and suppliers, ensuring service quality and SLA compliance.
- Monitor technology trends and recommend new technologies after proper evaluation.
- Lead, organize, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the IT Operations team (approximately 5 people).
- Define priorities, allocate workload, and ensure operational continuity and efficiency.
- Define and maintain a clear IT Operations and infrastructure roadmap, providing vision and direction for the evolution of systems and platforms.
- Ensure effective collaboration between internal experts and external service providers.
- Ensure IT operations and systems are compliant with regulatory frameworks, including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
- Develop and maintain operational resilience strategies, including risk assessments, incident management, and business continuity plans aligned with DORA requirements.
Profile of our future teammate
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT, including significant exposure to IT Operations and people management.
- ITIL 4 foundation is an asset.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards affecting IT operations, such as DORA, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- Proven experience in implementing IT operational resilience practices in line with regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of risk management, business continuity, and cybersecurity controls under DORA.
- Relevant IT systems, infrastructure, or database certifications are highly valued.
- Broad expertise in IT systems, infrastructure, and software architectures, supporting complex and mission-critical environments.

- Broad technical background across IT infrastructure, systems, and operations, with the ability to:
- Understand, challenge, and guide technical experts
- Make informed decisions without being the primary hands-on specialist
- Comfortable working with database, infrastructure, and application experts, relying on team expertise where appropriate.

- Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, proven ability to develop team competencies, ensuring skills are aligned with operated technologies.
- Experience in training, coaching, and knowledge sharing, ensuring operational continuity and backup coverage.
- Strong collaboration skills with key stakeholders, including IT Department Manager, IT Security Officer, Risk manager, External IT service providers, Business representatives.
- Ability to deliver major IT and operations projects.
