Our client is a famous european institution located in Kirchberg. They are looking for a Data Governance Officer for a duration of 2 months (extendable until 1 year).
Support the definition, planning, and implementation of the EIB Group's Data Management and Governance policy within the GR&C-RM Directorate in order to ensure that corporate data and reporting are accurate, reliable, and accessible to support the Bank's operations and promote a data-driven culture aligned with the EIB Group's objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the group-wide corporate data governance strategy, including policies, processes, procedures, standards, and tools.
- Investigate and follow-up on data quality issues impacting GR&C-RM and provide adequate support to the Directorate operational needs in the Data Governance area including for ORE AAPs, IA AAPs and REP recommendations
- Review data-related project charters and change requests to confirm that data governance deliverables are required, ensure the team's resources are adequately planned, and prepare and/or validate those deliverables
- Play an active role as a member of cross-functional Working Groups while representing GR&C-RM specific needs
- Execute typical tasks and activities to implement data governance and data management, notably regarding
Business glossary:
- Define and maintain GR&C-RM business terms, data fields, key risk indicators (KRIs) and related metadata including criticality identification following the Bank's guidelines
- Build and maintain a network of business and technical subject matter experts to ensure metadata is accurate, complete, and up to date
Data quality:
- Identify and analyse data quality issues impacting GR&C-RM and root causes, propose and implement sustainable improvements (short term to long term), clean and correct data
- Implement data quality processes including defining, implementing, testing, monitoring and reporting on data quality controls, measures and indicators
- Coordinate the prioritisation of IT tickets related to data quality control changes for GR&C-RM by ensuring alignment with IT release planning
Information architecture:
- Contribute to identifying how GR&C-RM data is collected, used, and classified according to its business criticality
- Contribute to the definition, documentation and improvement of how data are organized (e.g. entity definitions, structures & conceptual data models) and how data in GR&C-RM fit into the Bank's wider data landscape
Transversal activities:
- Raise awareness among stakeholders in the Directorate and actively contribute to various initiatives to ensure compliance with the data governance and management policy, related guidelines and processes
- Draft business cases and translate into functional specifications for GR&C-RM users
- Share knowledge and experience with peers and provide guidance to colleagues in the execution of data-centric activities or activities with data impacts
Background:
- University degree, preferably in Finance, Mathematics, IT or Information management.
- At least 3 years' professional experience covering data governance activities, business data analysis, data management and documentation activities
- Experience with Best Banking Practices would be an advantage, particularly in the implementation of BCBS239 principles (Principles for Effective Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting)
- Knowledge or exposure to credit and financial risk management is an advantage
- Knowledge in testing IT applications, writing queries in Business Objects, any other BI tool or programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python) is an advantage
- Preferably experience with IT Project management (drafting of Business cases, project charters, providing estimations and following - up of deadlines)
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French and a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage
