Senior Python Developer (H/F)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to design, develop and maintain robust, scalable and maintainable backend applications and services.

You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, code review, deployment support and production troubleshooting.

You will work closely with developers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps/Cloud teams and business stakeholders within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications and services using Python.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and integration services.
• Build scalable and maintainable software solutions following modern development best practices.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design decisions.
• Write clean, reusable, documented and testable Python code.
• Develop unit, integration and automated tests.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Integrate applications with databases, APIs, messaging systems and external services.
• Analyse and resolve performance, reliability and production issues.
• Optimise application performance and database interactions.
• Implement appropriate application security and authentication mechanisms.
• Support CI/CD and automated software-delivery processes.
• Contribute to application monitoring, logging and observability.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams.
• Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong professional experience with Python, ideally recent Python 3 versions.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with Python backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle.
• Experience with ORM technologies such as SQLAlchemy or Django ORM.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing using pytest, unittest or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with Python dependency and package management.
• Good command of Git and modern development workflows.
• Good understanding of software security and secure coding practices.
• Good understanding of Linux-based application environments.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and containerised applications.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
• Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
• Knowledge of asynchronous Python programming using asyncio.
• Experience with Celery or other distributed task-processing solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD solutions such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack or OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform.
• Experience with NoSQL databases depending on the application environment.

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Typically 5+ years of professional software-development experience, including significant experience with Python.
• Proven experience developing production-grade backend applications.
• Strong software engineering, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working within collaborative and Agile development environments.
• Professional proficiency in English.
