The end of summer can often be a fresh start. It’s the perfect time to think about your career, set new goals and invest in yourself. Technology is changing, jobs are evolving and expectations are becoming more diverse, so improving and developing your skills is now more important than ever.

Professional skills generally fall into two categories: hard skills, like expertise in specific software, the ability to use digital tools or knowledge of a foreign language, and soft skills, such as communication, adaptability to change and time management.

Nowadays, both kinds of skills are equally important if you’re looking to get on in your job, successfully reskill or adapt to new working environments.

Lifelong learning helps you stay up to date, open up new opportunities and build your future with confidence. Whether you’re looking to progress in your role, switch change or simply find fulfilment, training is accessible to everyone.

Tools to guide you in your training procedures

Have a project in mind, but you’re not sure where to begin?

Visit the INFPC's www.lifelong-learning.lu portal to discover the range of continuing training available in Luxembourg. The platform lists over 13 000 courses from almost 320 training providers covering topics such as languages, IT, finance and personal and professional development.

Its advanced search engine allows you to explore available courses using multiple filters, including:

  • Training domain;
  • Length, teaching language and schedule;
  • Target level;
  • Approved training provider;
  • And training type (in-person, e-learning or blended learning).

You can also search by trade or professio, perfect for identifying courses related to a particular role as well as diplomas available through continuing training.

Whether you have a specific goal in mind or you’re just thinking about the future, the tools and filters on lifelong-learning.lu help you quickly identify courses that match your profile, requirements and ambitions.

Support for your training goals

Because learning requires personal commitment, training aids are available to help you with your project – whether you want to expand your work-related skills, change jobs or progress on your career.

Training support measures, available under certain conditions, can take the form of:

  • Special paid leave: individual training leave, language training leave or youth leave with your salary being paid;
  • Organisation of work time: personal reorganisation of your work schedule or unpaid leave that allows employees to organise their training according to their work schedule and availability;
  • Specific financial support: tax relief, financial aid for higher education courses...

Want to know more? In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth and the professional chambers, the INFPC is organising information sessions focusing on training support for individuals.

The next information sessions will take place on:

  • Monday, 13 October 2025, in French (6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.);
  • Monday, 20 October 2025, in Luxembourgish (6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.).

They are organised face-to-face and broadcast simultaneously via livestream. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory at www.infpc.lu/inscription-aides.
