What are the careers in insurance?
The insurance recruitment market has always been very dynamic in Luxembourg. Diversity of jobs mainly explains this. Indeed, by choosing this business field, you will have a large choice of jobs and career progress in Luxembourg and this will enable you to secure a job position rapidly.
Among the position offered in the insurance industry, you will find ads from banks. This also include roles in risks management (internship, or officer or manager), insurance advisors, actuary, insurance brokers. If you have very good interpersonal skills, you may want to send your application to land a job as a client advisor (consumer or business), or wealth / asset management advisor, or even bank branch manager.
What skills do you need to work in insurance?
Once the job descriptions analysed, you will need to put forward your skills in your resume and cover letter to convince insurance recruiters. Carefully read the ads to find out what are the most expected skills. For instance, many employers require profiles, able to assess claims and handle reimbursement.
Depending on companies, you will be working on various subjects (vehicle loss assessing, expertise in structural damage in construction...). In general, if you want to be a professional in insurance, you will be asked to be rigorous, have a keen sense for observations and details, have a good interpersonal skill, especially over the telephone.
