Function :


As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at our client. you will be responsible for the timely and economic development and design of complex machinery within the scope of assigned projects, including the development of new products and the maintenance of existing products. This includes acquiring and managing the necessary information, knowledge and resources and making sure that all the required documentation is generated. You will help to maintain the quality of the engineering team’s outputs at a high level by performing final checks of designs and drawings produced by your colleagues, develop and implement best practices in terms of product design and verification and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Your main mission consists in:

o   Developing concepts for mechanical systems and generate corresponding designs,

o   Ensuring the quality and completeness of engineering documents (incl. technical correctness, quality assurance, traceability and knowledge management aspects),

o   Specifying, selecting and dimensioning machine components,

o   Participating in analytical and numerical structural analyses,

o   Checking designs and drawings produced by other team members, and providing guidance and expertise to your colleagues,

o   Preparing and supervising the preparation of fabrication drawings and production documents,

o   Contributing to documentation and testing of mechanical parts and assemblies,

o   Actively acquiring information needed to fulfil assigned tasks,

o   Coming up with development ideas and their realization,

o   Supporting continuous improvement in terms of design and verification processes,

o   Supporting your line manager,

o   Interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers in order to promote, improve and troubleshoot the company’s technical solutions.

 

Profile :

 

A master’s degree in a mechanical engineering or equivalent,

At least 10 years of experience in a relevant field of activity,

Ability to work in an English-speaking environment including technical discussions and documentation activities, German, French and Luxembourgish being considered a plus,

Experience in project management,

Good design knowledge incl. GD&T surface treatments, bolted connections, welded structures, bearings, standard & COTS parts,

Knowledge in machine components selection, specification and dimensioning,

Familiarity with structural engineering & analysis, incl. FEA,

Know-how of material properties & selection,

Familiarity with relevant norms (e.g. FKM, VDI2230, Eurocodes),

Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite including MS Project,

Strong sense of responsibility,

Out-of-the-box and cross-discipline thinking.
