On the 1st of October 2018, JAO became the Single Allocation Platform (SAP) for all European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) that operate in accordance to EU legislation, since it is able to implement and fulfill all regulatory obligations and requirements. We provide accounting (clearing and settlement), contracting, reporting and project support services.
About the job:
We're seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a permanent role to support the company's overall controlling tasks.
This person will report to the Head of Financial Controlling and Accounting and will be under the coordination of senior members in the team.
The Financial Controller will work closely with the other departments to support in their day to day cost management and monitoring, as well as forecasting and budgeting matters.
A solid command of English is crucial.
Key activities in the position:
Responsible for verifying and validating all of the Company's accounting entries and handling controlling activities;
Responsible for financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting activities;
Ensures that the Finance Department has the systems, policies, procedures and controls in the place to support effective operation and adherence to the financial rules and regulations that govern the company;
Work closely with the other departments to support in their day to day cost management and monitoring, as well as forecasting and budgeting matters;
Understands the company's standard of conduct, assessed risks to objectives, and the related control activities at their respective levels of the company, the expected information and communication flow, and monitoring activities relevant to their achievement of objectives;
Responsible for timely preparation and delivery of financial reports, annual accounts treasury reports and forecasts;
Assist with budgeting and fee structure processes;
Secure closing procedures together with the Accounting department;
Verify and authenticate from Financial Controlling perspective all bookkeeping entries;
Advise on VAT, tax and regulatory financial matters ;
Verify and confirm results related to Balance Sheet reconciliation, also do recommendations where needed;
Verify and confirm intracompany reconciliation processes with TSO's;
Draft of Financial Controlling policies and procedures;
Review and assess data from time tracking tool and make recommendations;
Provide support for on-going projects and suggest system improvements;
Coordinate and support external audit requests.
We are looking for someone with the following skills set:
Degree Education Level in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
Fluent in English with excellent audit requests;
Minimum 3 years of experience in controlling, accounting or audit;
Knowledge and experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecast;
Knowledge and experience in financial statements under LuxGaap;
Knowledge and experience working with SAP-FI/CO is an asset;
Good knowledge and mastering of ERP's or any;
Proficient in MS Office, most particularly in Excel and PowerPoint;
Ability to listen, empathy and excellent communication skills;
Able to structure work logically and efficiently;
Able to deliver work of a high standard with attention to detail;
Able to execute tasks under strict deadlines;
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
