When looking for a job, the main challenge for junior profiles with limited professional experience is to be able to highlight the qualities and skills they have already acquired in their previous jobs and internships. Indeed, when seeking a job at the beginning of one's career, it can sometimes be difficult to know how to correctly use the skills learned during training or previous experiences. When you are a junior, you have to be able to prove recruiters that you are mature enough to evolve in the job market. Employers' expectations can also be high: they will sometimes require a high degree of autonomy and adaptability.
To prepare your application and increase your chances of being selected for the next steps of the recruitment process, use the job description of your first experience, your last internship or your training as a guide. You should summarise your previous goals and tasks, if possible illustrated with figures. This will enable the employer to determine your position according to the tasks he or she will have to assign to you and to better plan with you. To personalise your application and show that you have studied the job offer, use specific elements of language related to the sector of activity of the targeted company. Finally, you can also reinforce your credibility by explaining why you want to continue working in the desired field, or switch to another field in order to broaden your skills.
All year round, many sectors of activity recruit people with little experience in Luxembourg. The most represented is the IT development sector, which offers hundreds of permanent contract job offers accessible to all candidates, even those with minimal experience. Of course, many other fields are looking to recruit young talents for their first job, that's why it's important to do a research using different filters and keywords, in order to find the most interesting job offers according to your profile and to find your dream job.
