The Institut National du Cancer (INC) is a non-profit association of public utility established on June 25, 2015. The INC’s mission is to contribute to the effective fight against cancer by ensuring that all cancer patients in Luxembourg have access to a structured and standardized clinical pathway, receive appropriate medical care, and help control healthcare costs in oncology. The INC currently plays a key role in implementing Luxembourg’s 2nd National Cancer Plan (2020-2026) and is actively involved in European initiatives that complement and strengthen these national efforts.

The INC is looking for a:
Scientific Writer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Drafting, editing and revising scientific content related to projects and initiatives of the INC (reports, summaries, publications, web content, etc.)
- Contributing to the preparation of technical reports within the framework of national and European projects (EU4Health actions, Horizon Europe, Cancer Mission)
- Producing scientific summaries and science communication materials tailored to different audiences, including policy makers, healthcare professionals and the general public
- Supporting the project team in structuring and drafting scientific and technical deliverables
- Ensuring the scientific and editorial consistency of documents produced by the INC and contributing to maintaining a high standard of writing quality
- Collaborating with national and European stakeholders (health institutions, academic partners, patient associations, public authorities, etc.) to collect, analyse and synthesise relevant scientific information
- Contributing to the dissemination and promotion of results from national and European oncology initiatives, notably through publications, communication materials and institutional content
- Contributing to the implementation of effective communication plans to disseminate project results to different audiences, including scientific communities, policy makers and the general public
- Contributing to the preparation of presentations for the INC management and institutional partners
- Contributing to other synergistic INC projects/activities
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree (Master, Bachelor or similar) in a relevant field of expertise: e.g., life sciences, medicine/nursing/pharmacy, public health, or biology
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in scientific writing, science communication, or a related field (e.g., biomedical, clinical, or public health)
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to synthesize complex scientific information for different audiences
- Experience in preparing scientific reports, publications, or deliverables within the framework of research projects or EU-funded projects is an asset
- Good knowledge of the healthcare sector, particularly in the field of oncology
- Ability to work autonomously in a structured and rigorous manner, with strong attention to detail and scientific quality
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Very good command of English and French and/or German; knowledge of Luxembourgish is an asset
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are mandatory; experience with scientific editing tools is an asset
