As the Head of Legal, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all legal matters within Pictet Asset Management in Luxembourg. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to senior management, and safeguarding the company's interests. This position requires a deep understanding of Luxembourg's asset management regulatory landscape and outstanding interpersonal / people management skills.
 

Your role

 

⦁    Provide legal advice and support to stakeholders across Pictet Asset Management on all matters affecting the management company and the investment funds it manages.
⦁    Lead a team of 5 highly skilled legal professionals by providing strategic direction, mentoring and development.
⦁    Manage the ongoing regulatory approvals and corporate life of the management company, and develop high quality relationships with the CSSF.
⦁    Manage all legal aspects of fund structuring, fund launches and international registration, as well as fund operations in general for a large range of Pictet Asset Management UCITS and AIFs investing in listed and non-listed assets.
⦁    Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the asset management industry and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and necessary actions.
⦁    Continuously develop strong and trustworthy relationships with internal stakeholders, such as product managers, compliance officers, and risk managers, to ensure business line objectives are met within the constraints of legal and regulatory requirements.
⦁    Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee their work on specific legal matters.
⦁    Stay updated on industry best practices through active participation in working groups and continuous networking.

Your profile

 

⦁    Outstanding people management skills with the ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
⦁    Law degree from a recognized university, with a focus on financial or commercial law. Additional qualifications such as an LL.M. or equivalent are preferred.
⦁    Proven experience (10+ years) as a legal professional in the asset management industry, with a strong understanding of Luxembourg's legal and regulatory framework.
⦁    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and provide practical solutions.
⦁    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
⦁    Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
⦁    Perfect mastery of French and English are required.
