Successful candidates will join the young, vibrant, and interdisciplinary FINATRAX Research Group, which builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The group conducts research on the application and the impact of technology on organisations in the private or public sector. Our team consists of international researchers with backgrounds in technology, law, management, economics, and other fields, united by a shared commitment to advancing sustainable technologies that benefit society. We target primarily Information Systems (IS) outlets, including the European and International Conferences on Information Systems (ECIS and ICIS) as well as top-tier journals in the IS field (Senior scholars' list of premier journals, Electronic Markets, Business and Information Systems Engineering). Your role
The candidate will be funded through a Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) project with a leading energy supplier in Luxembourg, as well as through other industry partnerships and public research projects. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of technological innovation adoption within an organisation. The candidate will perform the following tasks, among others:
- Establishing the socio-technical foundations for designing reliable, governed, customer-centric agentic AI in the regulated European energy sector.
- Conducting design science research by developing processes, models, methods, and systems and evaluating their effectiveness and utility.
- Investigating agentic AI platforms that consider the perspectives of individuals and organisations to ensure the reliable and trustworthy use of technology.
- Manage research projects and prepare project deliverables in collaboration with our (industry) partners.
- Disseminating results through scientific publications, aiming for the best-ranked outlets (e.g., Association for Information System's Senior Scholars' List of Premier Journals).
- Communicating and working with stakeholders in government (ministries, regulators, government-run start-up incubators) and companies.
- Preparing research proposals to attract industry partnerships as well as national and European grant projects.
- Mentoring and supervising PhD and Master students: providing guidance and support in their personal and group-strategic research endeavors, e.g. thesis, conference publications
Your profile
- PhD degree in Information Systems, Information Systems Engineering, Management / Business Administration, Agentic AI, Cybersecurity or related discipline
- Experience in publishing high-quality research, as demonstrated by research under review or published in top-tier journals, such as Electronic Markets, Business Information Systems Engineering, and Decision Support Systems, as well as conference proceedings, such as the European Conference on Information Systems and the International Conference on Information Systems
- Strong background in Information Systems Engineering, Agentic AI and Cybersecurity
- Excellent knowledge of English
