Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/x)Hollerich - Luxembourg


The Senior Legal Counsel will play a key role in providing support to all group companies, including contract review, contract management and business-relevant services throughout all legally relevant cross-departmental work as required. This role is a coordination reference point, ensuring consistent legal compliance while enabling business continuity in a challenging, but interesting, regulatory environment. You will work closely with markets, internal stakeholders, and external advisors, amongst others, to build a legally sound and compliant basis for the business needs of all parties you work with.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on commercial contracts initiated or requested by business owners across various departments, such as, among others, sales, promotional, distribution and manufacturing agreements as well as NDAs, intercompany agreements and finance agreements
  • Provide ongoing business support on contract matters, including renewals, amendments, and contract terminations
  • Ensure compliance of business contracts with applicable laws and regulations, as well as internal governance standards and operating procedures
  • Provide and coordinate with the Head of Legal and the Legal Officer, legal counselling and corporate governance activities, including legal opinions, analyses (in particular regarding marketing and promotional matters), as well as maintaining relevant records
  • Coordinate together with the Legal Officer and the Legal Assistant the contract management workflow and established operating procedures
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting local entities and coordinating document and evidence searches for legal purposes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and simplification of legal services and processes, in particular the work with the recently established Legal AI tool
  • Prepare and draft emails, legal opinions, statements, reports, and other documentation on both a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings and meetings with subsidiaries to evaluate risks and opportunities in the context of the given legal framework


YOUR PROFILE:

  • Master of Law or similar completed education
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working on legal matters in a commercial environment
  • FMCG background preferred; experience in regulated categories is a plus
  • Experience as an in-house lawyer in an international environment providing general legal support to a business entity
  • Strong experience in drafting and working with commercial contracts, particularly, but not limited to, in the areas of commercial business matters
  • Fluent English is mandatory, German/French or any other international language will be considered a strong advantage
  • Proven knowledge of general legal principles, particularly in Civil, Commercial, Competition, Transport and EU law, with the ability to conduct legal research using various sources
  • Proven ability to work pragmatically and in time to provide the relevant stakeholders with legal advice that the business can work with immediately
  • Experience in training team members while working under guidelines of the Head of Legal
