About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Legal Counsel specialized in Financial Services and Innovation to join a small and dynamic team focused on developing innovative business models within the framework of a regulated universal banking environment.
This role combines financial regulatory expertise, partner due diligence, and strategic support for innovation initiatives, with a strong interest in emerging areas such as FinTech and RegTech. The position also involves monitoring and supporting initiatives across the European financial services market.
The ideal candidate has a solid legal background in banking and financial regulation, combined with curiosity for innovation and a strong interest in the transformation of financial services.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Regulatory Support
- Provide legal and regulatory advice related to banking and financial services activities.
- Analyze and interpret European and Luxembourg financial regulations and assess their impact on new initiatives and projects.
- Support the structuring and development of innovative financial services, products, and business models within a regulated banking environment.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the European financial services sector.
Partner Due Diligence & Strategic Assessment
- Conduct legal and regulatory due diligence on potential partners, including financial institutions, FinTech companies, RegTech providers, and technology partners.
- Assess the regulatory status, licensing, and compliance frameworks of potential partners within European financial regulation.
- Perform legal and regulatory risk analysis related to partnerships, collaborations, and new financial service initiatives.
- Review corporate documentation, governance structures, and contractual frameworks of third parties.
- Identify legal, regulatory, reputational, and operational risks associated with potential collaborations.
- Support the structuring and negotiation of partnership agreements and innovation-driven collaborations.
- Prepare due diligence reports and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
European Market Perspective
- Conduct legal and regulatory analysis of financial services activities across European jurisdictions.
- Support the development and structuring of cross-border partnerships and innovative financial initiatives within the European market.
- Monitor developments in the European FinTech and RegTech ecosystem and identify opportunities relevant to the organization.
Working Environment

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Law, preferably with specialization in banking, financial, or regulatory law.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in:
- a leading law firm, or
- the legal department of a financial institution or FinTech company.
- Solid knowledge of European financial regulation and banking frameworks.
Skills and Competencies

- Ability to translate complex regulatory frameworks into practical insights.
