The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The LCEL focuses on the interdisciplinary field of European law and uses to full capacity its proximity to key EU institutions in Luxembourg. The new Interdisciplinary Centre (IC) will combine academic excellence and strategic research with impact. The IC will reflect in its strategic focus the European political agenda of a dual (digital and green) transition and topics related to European sovereignty
The Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL) of the University of Luxembourg wishes to appoint up to two post-doctoral researchers in European Law. The successful candidates will be an integral part of the academic team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the shaping and execution of the Centre's academic agenda.
Your role
Under the direction of the Centre's leadership, the successful candidates will:
- Realize their research projects in the field of European law
- Contribute to research projects undertaken by the LCEL
- Publish academic output in the form of books and/or articles in scholarly reviews
- Apply for EU-wide competitive funding
- Participate and disseminate their work in conferences
- Contribute to the activities of the LCEL, including the organisation of conferences, workshops and other outreach activities
- Undertake teaching at undergraduate and/or post graduate level
Your profile
- An outstanding academic record and a PhD with a specialization in European Law
- Excellent grounding in European Law
- Knowledge of European Constitutional Law
- Ability to conduct research autonomously at a post-doctoral level
- Experience and/or willingness to conduct interdisciplinary research
- The ability to work as part of a scholarly team
- The linguistic skills to work in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French is required. Good understanding of a third language will be considered an advantage
