Sustainable Finance Officer M/F

Our client, a prestigious European institution based in Kirchberg, Luxembourg, is seeking a Sustainable Finance Officer to join its Sustainable Finance team on an interim basis.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable finance initiatives at the European level. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will support the integration of climate and sustainability objectives across a diverse portfolio of financial activities and products.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the deployment and enhancement of existing climate-related financial products and initiatives.
• Participate in the development and structuring of new financial instruments supporting climate and sustainability objectives.
• Contribute to the implementation of climate and sustainability strategies across various business areas.
• Conduct research and sector analysis on topics including clean technologies, climate adaptation, circular economy, and critical raw materials.
• Advise internal stakeholders on sustainable finance eligibility criteria, policies, and EU regulatory requirements.
• Monitor developments within the EU Sustainable Finance Framework and help translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
• Contribute to the harmonisation of climate-related methodologies and product eligibility criteria.
• Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare analytical reports, briefing notes, position papers, and executive-level recommendations.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable finance, climate policy, ESG, green financial product development, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the EU Sustainable Finance regulatory framework.
• Experience in designing, structuring, or implementing sustainable or green financial products.
• Ability to analyse complex regulatory and business topics and translate them into practical recommendations.
• Previous exposure to financial products and investment activities is considered a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Additional EU languages would be an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to synthesise large amounts of information into clear and concise reports for senior management.
• Autonomous, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments.
