We are looking for an
Automation & Process Engineer / Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d)
Based in Luxembourg, you will integrate and reinforce our Pulverized Coal Injection department. Are you fascinated by technology driven, large scale industrial plants and on site work close to the customer? Join us to plan, test and start up Fuel Injection plants—Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) and gas injection systems—and their upstream units such as Coal Grinding and Drying (GAD) plants and compressor stations. You will play a key role in accelerating our customers’ decarbonization journey while working in a highly international environment.
Your main tasks:
Prepare detailed functional descriptions for PLC based plant automation, including I/O lists, sequence logic, interlocks, permissives and alarms
Contribute to process risk analyses for injection plants together with the extended engineering team
Plan and execute software tests (SW FAT) at supplier or customer premises and assure a smooth plant start-up and plant safety
Supervise Cold Commissioning (no load) and lead Hot Commissioning
Manage ramp up and fine tuning to achieve performance guarantees
Coordinate commissioning teams (internal, partners, and customer)
Train operators and maintenance staff
Perform service assignments like audits, troubleshooting, optimization, and tuning on operating plants
Compile and update operation & maintenance manuals
Represent Paul Wurth in meetings with customers, partners, and suppliers to communicate progress, risks, and mitigations.
What do we expect?
Degree or higher technical education in mechanical, process, electrical, control engineering or automation technology.
Several years of experience in commissioning and/or operation/maintenance of process plants (steel, energy, chemicals, oil & gas, or similar) is desirable
Strong troubleshooting mindset: ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems autonomously under time pressure
Familiarity with PLC programming and understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation and safety systems (SIS) is considered as an advantage
Flexibility for frequent international travel for software validation and commissioning missions (typically 1 week to 3 months per trip)
Fluency in English and high-level communication skills in relation to customer and project team.
