The Société de l'Aéroport de Luxembourg (lux-Airport) is the aerodrome operator responsible for the operation of the airport infrastructure. Our platform provides, among other things, direct flight services to more than 100 destinations via 16 airlines.

We have more than 350 employees, with different backgrounds and 19 nationalities.


Together we work daily to ensure the efficient operation of the airport and to provide a quality service to our passengers.

Thanks to everyone's commitment, we live up to our motto of being the best-in-class airport. Our reputation is also reflected in a few key figures: by the end of 2022, for example, we reached 4.05 million passengers and 975,000 tonnes of cargo.


To continue to respect our commitments and develop other projects, we are currently recruiting : a Wildlife Controller.


The objective of this recruitment is is to complement the existing team.

To this end, the Wildlife Controller will be responsible for implementing preventive actions aimed at guaranteeing the risks associated with the airport's wildlife.

ATTENTION: given the restrictive nature of the work schedule, we invite you to think about the compatibility of these hours with your private life before applying.

The work schedule is organised into shifts, according to the 7*2/7*2/7*3 model, i.e. :

  • 7 working days - 2 days off ;
  • 7 working days - 2 rest days ;
  • 7 working days - 3 days off.

Working hours are scheduled at 08:30/per day, as follows (including weekends and public holidays):

  • 05:30 to 14:00
  • or 13:30 to 22:00.

Your responsibilities


Your daily tasks:

  • Performing Wildlife observations
  • Implementing basic and advanced actions to continually reduce the risks inherent in Wildlife, including the use of pyrotechnic equipment.
  • Handling injured animals and animal remains
  • Proactively carrying out the instructions given by the Wildlife & Winter Control Manager: supervision of green space maintenance, setting of traps and cages, use of gas cannons, etc.
  • Supporting the team of Airside Inspectors in all Wildlife-related matters.
  • Keeping an active watch on developments in the "high-risk" zone within a 13 km radius of the airport site.

Your other missions:

  • Providing support during winter operations
  • Participating in the integration of new employees

The required profile


Studies / training :

Bachelor or equivalent experience


Experience:

  • First professional experience
  • Proven experience in the Wildlife industry

Skills and knowledge required:


IT Tools:

  • Microsoft Office suite

Languages:

Mandatory:

  • English: fluent spoken and written
  • French: basic operational level
  • German: basic operational level

Specific knowledge linked to the job:

  • Hunting license required
  • Valid B driving licence
