Your main assignments as a refuse loader is to collect waste from private persons and load it into a dump truck before powering the garbage grinding system. The job descriptions on each offer may vary according to the company and kind of collecting. It will be necessary to ensure – when it is possible – that the recycling is respected by checking the contents of the bins. This hygiene professional often works with two other teammates – namely the second garbage worker and dump truck driver. Finally, your potential future employer may ask you to collect several kinds of material during materials while collecting bulky items.
Working as a refuse loader or garbage worker requires a good physical condition. You will also need to be available as you can work very early in the morning or late in the evening. As a dump truck driver, you must be able to maneuver the truck without any difficulty. You can also work for a private company or industries as a garbage worker. In this case you will be in charge of cleaning different industrial environments.
Generally, you do not need any diploma for this job in Luxembourg. A General certificate / Technical certificate or any other equivalent diploma in waste collection, treatment, sanitation will always be a plus in your application. Recruiters are mostly offering fixed-term contracts in their job offers. If you work for a municipality, you will have to carry out several assignments as a municipal worker.
