Employers hiring Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineers are companies in the Building industry / Construction, Consulting firms as well as communities.
As described in the job offers, being a Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineers involves great responsibilities because you take care of installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. You will in charge of the temperature and air quality of the buildings you work in. Recruiters are regularly looking for candidates capable of managing feasibility studies as well as construction site monitoring.
You will sometimes work Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineer – namely during the project’s preparation phase – to create plans. You can also work with electricians during the realization phase. However, the installations’ energy efficiency rests on your shoulders. This requires a strong knowledge of the newest technologies and regulations regarding the Environment and Renewable Energy business sector.
If you want your application to be relevant, it has to reflect your knowledge and curiosity for HVAC and building in general – as the job is constantly evolving in Luxembourg. You will find the recruiter’s prerequisites for this position in each job offer – such as management, organizational skills, communication skills, or budget management – in addition to the technical skills.
To become a Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineer, you should obtain a general engineering degree with a specialization in building and public works, or a Master's degree in energy and building. However, it is possible to submit your application to different job offers of Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineer if you have an HND or equivalent, or Bachelor’s degree if you can demonstrate an extensive experience on HVAC projects. After a few years in this position of Refrigeration and Air conditioning engineer, you can develop your career and become a Project Manager, Operations Manager or even create your own accounting firm.
