APPLICATION HARDENING / SECURITY SPECIALIST

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Application Security and Hardening Specialist to assess, strengthen, and advise on the security posture of enterprise applications and systems. Working within a complex IT environment, you will play a critical role in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing hardening measures, and ensuring that applications and infrastructure meet industry security standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of application and system security postures, identifying vulnerabilities and areas of risk
  
• Define and implement hardening measures across applications, operating systems, and network components in line with security best practices and compliance frameworks
  
• Support vulnerability mitigation efforts, working closely with infrastructure and development teams to remediate identified risks
  
• Provide expert advisory services on secure configuration, hardening guidelines, and security architecture decisions
  
• Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and internal security requirements
  
• Develop and maintain hardening standards, policies, and documentation
  
• Contribute to security awareness and best practice sharing across technical teams
  

Profile

• Proven experience in application security, system hardening, or a closely related cybersecurity discipline
  
• Strong knowledge of hardening frameworks and standards (e.g. CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs) and their practical application
  
• Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and supporting remediation efforts in enterprise environments
  
• Solid understanding of network security principles and their interaction with application security
  
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to IT security
  
• Ability to communicate security risks and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  
• Fluent in English ; German is a strong advantage
