Data Governance Officer (M/F)

As a Data Governance Officer, you will support the operational implementation of the Bank's Data Strategy and BCBS 239 programme. Reporting to the Senior Data Governance Officer, you will work with Business, Risk, Finance, Data and IT stakeholders to embed effective governance practices across the data lifecycle.

Your next challenge:

• Support the day-to-day implementation of the Bank's Data Governance framework, standards and procedures.
  
• Contribute to BCBS 239 implementation and related remediation activities.
  
• Maintain and control Data Governance artefacts, including the Business Glossary, Business Terms, metadata, data ownership and data lineage.
  
• Support Data Owners and Data Stewards in fulfilling their responsibilities and using Data Governance tools.
  
• Perform completeness and consistency checks on metadata and governance information, and coordinate the resolution of identified gaps.
  
• Support the documentation and maintenance of business and technical lineage across business concepts, data fields, applications and source systems.
  
• Embed Data Governance requirements in data and IT projects throughout the data lifecycle.
  
• Contribute to the improvement and automation of operational Data Governance processes and controls.
  
• Maintain evidence supporting BCBS 239, internal control, audit and regulatory requirements.
  
• Use Microsoft 365, Power BI, Copilot and relevant AI-enabled automation capabilities to improve efficiency and ways of working.
  
  

Your skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance,
• Economics, Engineering or a related field.
  
• One to three years of professional experience working with data, preferably in banking or financial services.
  
• Practical experience with financial, risk, accounting, regulatory or banking data is preferred.
  
• Previous Data Governance experience is an advantage but is not required.
  
• Fluent in English; French is an advantage.
• Good understanding of the data lifecycle, including data sourcing, transformation, storage, mapping and consumption.
  
• Knowledge of data development processes and the movement of data between systems.
  
• Working knowledge of data modelling, database and data architecture concepts.
  
• Ability to use SQL to explore datasets, analyse data structures and support data investigations.
  
• Knowledge of Data Governance and metadata tools, such as HOPEX, Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview or equivalent solutions.
  
• Understanding of Business Glossary, metadata management, data ownership and data lineage concepts.
  
• Practical experience with Power BI, including data analysis and the creation or maintenance of dashboards.
  
• Strong command of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and relevant AI-enabled productivity and automation capabilities.
  
• Knowledge of BCBS 239 or banking regulatory data requirements is an advantage.
• Highly self-driven, proactive and able to take ownership of assigned activities with limited supervision.
  
• Hands-on and comfortable working directly with data, tools and governance artefacts.
  
• Analytical, structured and attentive to detail.
  
• Strong team player who collaborates effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  
• Able to challenge inconsistencies constructively, follow up with stakeholders and drive activities to completion.
  
• Curious about data, technology and AI, with a continuous improvement and automation mindset.
  
• Clear communicator who can explain data-related topics to different audiences.
