- Luxemburg (Canton), Luxemburg
- Accounting / Controlling / Tax
Most accounting positions focus solely on producing financial statements and meeting reporting deadlines.
This opportunity offers considerably more.
Our client is a highly prestigious Family Office based in Luxembourg, managing a diversified portfolio of Private Equity investments, SOPARFIs and holding companies. Thanks to its lean structure, you will work in close proximity to the principals of the Family Office, who are regularly present in Luxembourg and actively involved in the management of their investments.
Rather than working several layers away from decision-makers, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with the family members, gain first-hand exposure to investment discussions, and progressively become a trusted finance partner within the organisation.
The ideal candidate will come from a Fund Administrator, Fiduciary, AIFM or Corporate Services Provider, with solid experience managing a portfolio of SOPARFIs, Holdings and Private Equity structures. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to move to the investor side while maintaining exposure to sophisticated investment vehicles.
Your Responsibilities
As Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the financial management of the Family Office's investment structures by:
- Managing the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of SOPARFIs, Holdings and Private Equity structures
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under Lux GAAP
- Coordinating year-end closings with auditors, tax advisors and external service providers
- Preparing accounting information supporting VAT and corporate tax filings
- Monitoring treasury activities and cash positions
- Preparing financial analyses and reports for the principals and senior management
- Supporting the accounting and administration of investment structures
- Participating in strategic finance projects linked to acquisitions, investments and corporate activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
Your Profile
- ACCA qualified or currently pursuing the ACCA would be a strong advantage
- At least 4 years of accounting experience in Luxembourg
- Strong experience managing a portfolio of SOPARFIs, Holdings and Private Equity structures
- Previous experience within a Fund Administrator, Fiduciary, AIFM, PFS or Corporate Services Provider
- Solid knowledge of Lux GAAP and Luxembourg investment structures
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working autonomously while interacting with senior stakeholders
- Genuine interest in investments, corporate finance and wealth management
- Fluent English is mandatory
Why Join This Family Office?
Work Alongside the Family
Unlike large financial institutions where senior management can feel inaccessible, this role places you at the heart of the organisation. You will regularly interact with the principals of the Family Office, who remain closely involved in their investment activities and are frequently present in Luxembourg.
This unique proximity allows you to better understand the group's investment philosophy, participate in discussions surrounding the portfolio and gradually build trusted relationships with the key decision-makers.
Join the Investor Side
If you currently work for a service provider, this opportunity offers the chance to manage the investment structures from the owner's perspective rather than servicing multiple external clients. You will gain a much deeper understanding of the investments and their long-term strategy.
Exposure Beyond Accounting
This is not a position where you will spend your entire career producing financial statements. As your knowledge of the portfolio grows, you will progressively become involved in investment-related matters, treasury, strategic finance projects and corporate initiatives, allowing you to significantly broaden your expertise.
Long-Term Career Prospects
The Family Office is looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career within the organisation. Performance and initiative are recognised, and responsibilities naturally increase as trust is established.
