For one of our clients, we are looking for a bilingual and analytical Credit Analyst. In this role, you will evaluate customer creditworthiness, mitigate financial risks, and act as a key partner to the sales team.

You will also provide valuable backup support for our daily treasury and accounting operations.

 

Credit Risk Analyst (M/F/D)

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze credit data and complex financial statements to determine the level of risk for granting or extending credit. This includes gathering customer information, reading financial briefings, and managing requests to credit insurance providers.
  • Financial Analysis: Create and evaluate key financial ratios based on customer statements to assess overall financial health and creditworthiness.
  • Reporting & Recommendations: Prepare detailed credit analysis reports outlining risk levels, and recommend appropriate credit limits, payment terms, or custom payment plans.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with the sales team and customers to negotiate payment terms, resolve payment-related issues, and verify financial transactions.

Related Backup Activities (Treasury & Accounting) :

  • Cash Management: Prepare the company’s daily cash position and take proactive measures to avoid bank overdrafts or excess idle cash.
  • Accounting Support: Monitor the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and maintain a strong understanding of the company’s accounting, fiscal, and internal control rules.
  • Treasury Coordination: Liaise directly with the Treasurer regarding supplier payments and customer receivables.

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: Basic knowledge of accounting principles is required; previous experience in credit analysis is a distinct advantage.
  • Languages: Full fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Core Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical & Soft Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
