Our client, a leading public research and academic institution based in Belval, is currently looking for a Buyer (English/French) to join its operations team. The successful candidate will act as a key procurement partner for researchers and technical teams, supporting the acquisition of scientific equipment, laboratory materials, IT hardware and related services while ensuring compliance with internal procurement procedures.This position is offered on a full-time basis, 40 hours per week, for a temporary contract of 2 months.

Your responsibilities:
- Act as the central point of contact for procurement requests originating from research groups and technical departments.
- Review purchasing requests and guide stakeholders on the most appropriate procurement process.
- Create and monitor Purchase Requests (PRs) and support the Purchase Order (PO) process.
- Coordinate interactions between researchers, suppliers and internal Procurement and Finance departments.
- Support stakeholders in obtaining quotations and preparing procurement documentation.
- Assist with procurement procedures requiring public tenders, in collaboration with the Procurement team.
- Support the preparation and submission of funding applications related to scientific equipment acquisitions.
- Follow procurement requests from initiation through ordering, delivery and invoicing.
- Coordinate the registration of purchased assets and contribute to maintaining an accurate equipment inventory.
- Ensure visibility on ongoing purchases and proactively follow up on delays, pending actions or missing information.
- Advise internal stakeholders on procurement policies and identify practical and compliant solutions.
- Contribute to the standardisation, documentation and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting documentation.
- Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely purchasing operations.
Your profile:
- You hold a degree or equivalent professional experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- You have previous experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a technical, scientific, laboratory, research or IT environment.
- You have experience working with ERP or procurement systems; knowledge of SAP would be a strong asset.
- You have an understanding of public procurement procedures and tender processes.
- You are comfortable managing multiple purchasing requests simultaneously and efficiently prioritising tasks.
- You possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
- You have a service-oriented mindset and enjoy supporting researchers, engineers and technical teams.
- You are able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- You are proactive, solution-oriented and capable of operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- You are fluent in English; French is required. Knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish would be considered an asset.
- You have a genuine interest in supporting innovation, research activities and the acquisition of specialised scientific and technical equipment.
