About the Role
We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert in Embedded Finance with strong expertise in collaboration models between financial institutions and non-financial partners.
The role focuses on analyzing and supporting the development of embedded finance ecosystems, where financial services are integrated into non-financial platforms, digital ecosystems, and partner environments. It also covers the reverse model, where non-banking products and services are integrated into the digital channels of financial institutions (e.g., e-banking platforms).
The position requires a strong understanding of platform ecosystems, partnership structures, and innovative distribution models that enable financial institutions and non-financial companies to collaborate and create new value propositions.
The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis of European embedded finance business cases and partnership models, and help structure knowledge related to innovative financial service distribution through digital ecosystems.
This position is part of a small and dynamic team focused on innovation in financial services and emerging financial business models across the European market.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Finance Expertise
- Provide expert insight on embedded finance ecosystems and platform-based financial services.
- Analyze business models where financial services are integrated into non-financial platforms and digital ecosystems.
- Assess emerging embedded finance use cases and partnership models.
Financial Ecosystem Partnerships
- Analyze collaboration structures between financial institutions and non-financial companies (e.g., platforms, marketplaces, technology companies).
- Evaluate partnership models enabling financial services distribution through third-party ecosystems.
- Identify strategic opportunities for financial institutions to collaborate with non-financial partners.
Beyond Banking / Reverse Embedded Finance
- Analyze models where non-financial services and products are integrated into banking channels, including e-banking and mobile banking platforms.
- Evaluate opportunities for banks to offer “beyond banking” services through their digital channels.
- Assess ecosystem partnerships enabling banks to distribute non-financial services to their customer base.
Market & Innovation Analysis
- Monitor developments in the European embedded finance landscape.
- Analyze emerging distribution models for financial services within digital ecosystems.
- Evaluate new business models combining financial services and non-financial platforms.
Knowledge Platform Contribution
- Contribute to the development of a knowledge platform documenting European embedded finance business cases and collaboration models.
- Structure and document innovative financial services distribution models and ecosystem partnerships.
- Support AI-driven analysis of embedded finance developments and market trends.
Working Environment
- Work as part of a small, agile, and highly motivated team focused on financial innovation.
- Contribute to initiatives exploring new financial service distribution models and ecosystem partnerships.
- Participate in research and analysis of emerging financial services ecosystems across the European market.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Technology, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of professional experience in embedded finance, FinTech, platform ecosystems, or financial innovation.
- Experience gained within:
- FinTech companies focused on embedded finance,
- financial institutions developing ecosystem partnerships,
- technology platforms integrating financial services, or
- consulting or advisory firms specializing in financial innovation.
Skills and Expertise
- Strong expertise in embedded finance ecosystems and platform-based financial services.
- Deep understanding of collaboration models between financial institutions and non-financial partners.
- Knowledge of “beyond banking” strategies and ecosystem-based financial service distribution.
- Strong analytical capability to evaluate new financial services business models and partnership structures.
