We are currently looking for an Accountant for one of our client, a company specialized in the insurance sector. Under the supervision of an Accounting Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial and accounting follow-up of reinsurance companies.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post financial entries
- Prepare and execute payments and transfers (general expenses, taxes)
- Post technical accounting entries (premiums, claims, equalization reserves) in collaboration with the Technical Accountant
- Perform bank reconciliations and IFRS consolidations
- Prepare profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and client reporting packs
- Prepare tax returns and analyze tax statements
- Prepare regulatory reporting for local authorities (e.g., BCL, CAA)
- Prepare and participate in internal and client meetings (Committees, Board of Directors, etc.)
- Maintain relationships with third parties (auditors, banks, clients, suppliers)
Profile
- University degree in Accounting
- 2–3 years of experience in fiduciary or commercial company accounting
- Knowledge of Luxembourg legislation related to the supervision of insurance/reinsurance undertakings
- Fluent in French
- Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: English, Spanish, or German
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with Demasy accounting software is considered a plus
