Head of Finance & Accounting | Energy Sector | GE/ENG

Our client is an international company operating in the energy sector, with a strong presence across several countries and an established office in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

As part of the continued development of its Luxembourg activities, the company is looking for an experienced Head of Finance & Accounting to take ownership of the local finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join an in-house, international environment and combine finance leadership with a hands-on approach.

Your responsibilities

• Take ownership of the financial accounting function, including monthly, half-year and annual closings in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely Group reporting.
• Maintain a hands-on involvement in the day-to-day finance activities while overseeing the broader function.
• Lead and continuously improve finance processes, with a particular focus on digitalisation, automation and operational efficiency.
• Manage treasury and liquidity activities, coordinate financing matters and oversee cash-pooling structures in collaboration with Group Treasury.
• Coordinate tax-related matters together with Group Tax and external advisors.
• Lead, support and develop the local Finance team.

Your Profile

• You have a higher education degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• You bring several years of solid experience in Finance & Accounting, ideally gained within an international or multinational environment.
• You have previous experience leading and developing a finance team.
• You possess strong knowledge of IFRS as well as a good understanding of financial reporting and closing processes.
• You are fluent in German and English.
