Your future team

 The Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) Service is a dedicated team providing accounting & financial reporting advisory services, specialising in IFRS, US GAAP and LUX GAAP. The team assists clients by providing expert input to challenging transactions, performing critical reviews of financial statements, providing trainings amongst others.

ARA is a dynamic, multicultural and young team, assisting both external clients and audit teams with complex accounting matters and the practical application of accounting & financial reporting standards. Accustomed to being the expert in the room, ARA has at the core of its objective the development of its members both technically and non-technically, aiming to make them experts in their subject but as well all-rounders in terms of soft skills. ARA is also a strong supporter of diversity. ARA team members therefore benefit from extensive trainings both internally designed by ARA Luxembourg and as well from the Global firm, on-the-job coaching and career coaching & development. New ARA members are welcomed with an extensive onboarding program with dedicated learning time prior to navigating the waters. As part of ARA, you will be developing experience across different industries and will benefit from a network of expertise. You will be interacting frequently with team members from other departments including Audit, Advisory and Tax. You will also be exposed to a network of expertise locally and internationally from which you will learn.

How you'll contribute to our success

  •  Conduct research and analysis on specific operations (M&A, restructuring, financial instruments, etc.) to advise clients and/or support audit teams with accounting and financial reporting requirements
  • Perform reviews of accounting policies and financial statements under IFRS, Lux GAAP, and US GAAP
  • Assist with consolidation accounting challenges
  • Prepare training materials to educate clients and Deloitte teams on recent accounting and financial reporting updates, and participate in presentations, articles, and non-technical activities to contribute to the growth of the service line
  • Develop a strong network with peers, colleagues from other departments, and clients, and assist in preparing proposals to respond to clients’ needs

 

Your skills

 Must have

  • Holding a Master’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a similar field or holding an internationally recognised professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, US CPA, DSCG, DEC, Luxembourgish IRE)
  • Fluent in English
  • Passion for performing research work on accounting topics under multiple GAAPs

Nice to have

  • Fluency in French and/or German and/or Luxembourgish
  • Ability to think outside and beyond the box
  • Being a strong team player who can also work independently, and enjoying both technical accounting and building relationships/networks
