Among more than 42,000 companies operating in Luxembourg, STATEC has just released its official ranking of the country’s largest private employers. A useful opportunity to better understand the driving forces behind Luxembourg’s economy.
Key points to remember about the ranking
Published annually by STATEC, this ranking is based on the number of employees declared in its yearly survey on salaried employment. A few important clarifications:
- Only private companies with more than 90 employees are included.
- The public sector and temporary employment are excluded from the ranking.
- The estimated coverage rate is 64% of the private workforce, offering a representative, though not exhaustive, view of the Luxembourgish market.
The ranking
As in previous years, CFL Group (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) tops the list, with 5,110 employees. The railway transport sector thus continues to play a key role in Luxembourg’s economy. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet CFL’s recruitment team at the Unicareers fair in late September, as well as during Moovijob Week on Wednesday (Industry/Construction/Transport) and Thursday (IT).
