ABOUT LNS

 

The « Laboratoire National de Santé » (LNS) is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. As a multidisciplinary institute, the LNS consists of four scientific departments in the fields of medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection. In addition, the LNS is also hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics. The LNS has its premises in Dudelange since 2013.


The mission of the LNS is to develop analytical and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases and to ensure the role of a national control or reference laboratory as well as to carry out forensic tasks. The institution also contributes to the development, harmonization and promotion of technical laboratory methods in close collaboration with local and international analytical laboratories. Within the scope of its responsibilities, the LNS is also leading research and teaching activities in collaboration with partners in Luxembourg and abroad.


With its modern infrastructure in line with the recent evolution of medical and analytical sciences, the LNS is an ambitious laboratory with innovative projects that increase its expertise in public health.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:


As a Communication Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the routine diagnostics of the microbiology department and support a European Union-funded project aimed at improving the European Union’s preparedness to respond to cross-border health threats by laying the groundwork for a future European partnership for pandemic preparedness. You will closely collaborate with the Scientific Coordinator and the Head of the Department as well as with the project consortium and your responsibilities include:


  • Coordinating, organizing, updating and enhancing the project’s communication platforms, which include websites, social media, and newsletters.
  • Planning and managing exciting outreach events, including workshops, to effectively engage the stakeholders.
  • Creating concise, persuasive communication reports that clearly convey information and leave a positive impact.
  • Providing activity reports on all communication and dissemination activities.
  • Organizing workshops and meetings and establishing new communication channels between the services and the physicians.
  • Supporting the publication of epidemiological data and cases to increase the visibility of the department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:


  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in communication with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • An experience within an academic institution or the healthcare industry will be considered as a very strong plus.
  • Proficiency in digital communication, including managing websites and social media outlets, as well as organizing events.
  • Proactive and diligent task management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate qualities of rigor and a strong team player.
  • Exceptional integrity.
  • Excellent command of English and French is essential.
