Walferdange is home to approximately 8,000 inhabitants – 50 % foreigners and almost 90 different nationalities – and is located in the valley of Alzette – which is dominated on both sides by wooded hills. The parts of Walferdange and Helmsange – among the three parts constituting the municipality – are on the right bank of the river, while the part of Bereldange is on the left bank.
There are many recruiters – with nearly 400 companies present, including brands like Delhaize, Cactus, and so on – in terms of job offers. If you do not find many job offers there, you should know that it is possible to find a position in the neighboring region. You will find indeed Regional-Express (RE) and Regionalbunn (RB) trains in Walferdange. Those trains operate services to Gouvy and Rodange via the Luxembourg City train station. It could be very interesting to apply for jobs in these different locations because there are the largest number of employers of all types – great groups in every business sector, small and medium-sized businesses, temporary employment agencies, but also recruitment agencies.
If you want to complete your training before entering the job market, you should know that the Ministère de l'Education nationale, de l'Enfance et de la Jeunesse – or the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth in English – has relocated some of its resource services on the former Campus - Walferdange of the University of Luxembourg – now operated under the name of "eduPôle - Walferdange" – since September 2015.
