To help you arrive prepared and confident, we asked participants from last year’s edition how they got ready for the fair.
Start by researching the companies attending
The most common preparation tip from previous attendees was simple: check the list of companies on the Unicareers website before the event. One interviewee looking for work in the legal sector explained: “I actually prepared several CVs with several profiles that are interesting for me.” This can be especially useful if you have a versatile profile or are considering several career paths.
Keep a general CV ready for unexpected opportunities, but bring tailored versions for the roles and companies you have researched in advance. A targeted CV makes it easier for recruiters to understand your motivation, your strengths and the value you could bring to the position.

Use the fair to speak directly with recruiters
Beyond discovering vacancies, Unicareers is also a valuable opportunity to speak face-to-face with recruitment professionals. These conversations can help you better understand what companies expect from candidates, which skills are most in demand and how you can strengthen your profile for the roles that interest you.
For some attendees, like one interviewee who had just finished their studies in entrepreneurship and innovation, this direct access to recruiters is one of the main reasons to attend the fair, beyond just exploring roles and companies: “I was really keen to have a discussion with the recruiters to find out what characteristics, the most essential ones, they look for.”
If you are planning to approach a company or a role that really interests you, prepare a short elevator pitch before the event. In a few sentences, be ready to introduce who you are, what you are studying or looking for, the skills you want to highlight and why you are interested in that employer.
