Unicareers 2026 has wrapped up, and it is time to look back on the highlights of this year’s edition. On Friday 25th September, 87 Luxembourg companies welcomed 5842 visitors at the country’s largest job fair for interns and young professionals.

Reaching the eyes and ears of young talent

Before the event, we rolled out a multi-channel communications strategy specifically targeting students and young professionals with up to 5 years’ experience.

Beyond social media outreach, our network of academic partners in Luxembourg and the surrounding region, together with support from several local and cross-border media partners and the Luxemburger Wort, ensured the event achieved maximum visibility among a young audience.

Ensuring high-quality connections through a tailored organisation

To ensure the best possible exchanges, we conducted a pre-selection. Once selected, candidates could prepare using the event website, which provided a list of attending companies, available job offers and practical information. We also shared useful articles on our social media channels and blog, including guidance on how to get the most out of Unicareers and how previous attendees prepared for the fair.

“I like that, as our profiles have been chosen, there were fewer people, so we have more time to be interviewed by each company, and I think that’s a great thing,” said a participant who is looking for a job after reorienting herself from IT to sales.

Upon arrival, every visitor received the official guide published in the Luxemburger Wort and a floor plan of the fair. On the day, visitors could access a variety of services: a professional photographer for CV photos, a lounge area to grab a bite and take a breather between interviews at employer stands, and the Moovijob.com information stand, where our team guided visitors throughout the day. When first entering the fair area, visitors also had access to a giant floor plan and a wall of QR codes, where they could find all available job offers sorted by sector.

Networking and opportunities

Both visitors and exhibitors made valuable new connections and created opportunities for employment or recruitment in the weeks beyond the job fair.

For many of the visitors we interviewed, the most important aspect of the fair was the human interaction. Many cited being able to talk directly to a recruiter, gain insights into the job market’s needs, and get feedback on their own skills as one of the main positives.

“It’s already a possibility to have a first real contact with recruiters, work on one’s communication skills, and ask as many questions as possible,” said a participant who was looking for an internship.

Some of the visitors were not yet at university and used the fair to make informed decisions about their career choices.

“Overall, I think that this might be very constructive for people who are seeking their future or who are looking to build it.”

For exhibitors, the event offers a unique way to meet not only job seekers but also young people developing their skills. Thus, the event is a great way for companies to talk to prospective interns and people at the beginning of their studies, who are still determining what path to take.

“We are searching a lot in the engineering sector, and there are many engineering interns here. But we also have many opportunities in IT and finance, so this is the No. 1 place to find interns,” said a recruiter from Encevo.

Recruiters from Ashurst Perkins Coie as well as SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg highlighted the diverse backgrounds and general quality of profiles present at the fair: “I strongly recommend the fair […] because of the quality of the profiles I met, profiles from different jurisdictions, with different backgrounds, and also because of the excellent organisation and the services provided.”

The recruiter from the European Court of Justice further emphasises the importance of young people and an event tailored to opportunities for them: “[There’s] a lot of young people, and that is exactly what we need.”

Many recruiters also felt confident they would be hiring in the weeks following the fair, based on the interviews they had on the day. Société Générale Luxembourg and ARHS Group Part of Accenture were among those who highlighted their confidence that some of their open positions will likely be filled by visitors at the fair.

These testimonials highlight what makes the event so valuable: high-quality exchanges, meaningful connections, authentic human interactions, and ample opportunities for candidates and recruiters alike.
