In Luxembourg as elsewhere, only prestigious establishments have valet parking needs. They choose to offer this top-of-the-range service to a luxury clientele. A service that is almost compulsory today in palaces, luxury hotels and gastronomic restaurants. It should be noted that private individuals and other types of companies may also call upon a valet parking service for their private events (parties, weddings) or corporate events.
As you might have understood already, the majority of employers are in the hotel / restaurant sector or private companies specialising in this service. Today, especially in central Luxembourg and in the "Grund" area, it is difficult to park. The aim of a valet is to take care of customers' vehicles in front of the frequented establishment so that they do not waste their time looking for a parking space or walk too much. Recruiters are looking for presence and stamina. This work can be done both night and day. The required languages are also listed in the job advertisements. English and French are two mandatory languages to be familiar with, while Luxembourgish and German are being assets. In hotels, the valet may also work as a baggage handler. In the reverse, the baggage handler may also work as a valet.
