Accounting positions are regularly published on Moovijob, it is a particularly dynamic sector which offers many opportunities in Luxembourg. Hiring companies are accounting, payroll and service provider firms, fiduciaries, but also companies active in various sectors.
You should know that in Luxembourg, this accounting job is regulated. Once you have obtained your diploma, DCG, DEC, DSCG, you may choose to work as a self-employed person or as an employee. As with all self-employed consultancy jobs, you will need to obtain an establishment permit. In order to work as a chartered accountant in Luxembourg, you must have the following requirements:
- be registered with the Ordre des Experts Comptable du Luxembourg.
- have at least a Bachelor's degree (or a licence).
- have 3 years of professional experience.
- validate the aptitude tests.
Before sending your applications, please make sure that you make a clear distinction between job advertisements for accountants and public accountants. As a chartered accountant, you will ensure the reliability of the company's accounts, and the regularity and sincerity of the accounts produced by the company, in accordance with accounting, tax and legal standards.
Among your missions, you establish and/or make your clients' accounting more reliable. Depending on the employer structure, you will be involved in bookkeeping: recording accounting documents, tax and social security declarations, annual auditing of accounts, etc. to draw up the annual accounts: drawing up the balance sheet and profit and loss account, consolidation of accounts, etc. You also have a supervisory role: this involves carrying out audit and accounting review operations.
Finally, you act as an advisor to the management teams: company directors, shareholders, banks, tax departments, in order to guide strategic decisions.
In Luxembourg, accounting professionals are in great demand: assistant accountant, accountant, management controller, manager. Recruiters are struggling to find available senior candidates. They therefore do not hesitate to open up recruitment to junior, less experienced profiles.
