Located in Luxembourg, we are a service company that hosts Europe's single leading trading platform( e-CAT) for cross-border transmission capacity. On behalf of TSOs, we auction the available long and short-term transmission capacity rights on all internal EU borders.
On the 1st of October 2018, JAO became the Single Allocation Platform (SAP) for all European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) that operate in accordance to EU legislation, since it is able to implement and fulfill all regulatory obligations and requirements. We provide accounting (clearing and settlement), contracting, reporting and project support services.
About the job
As Business Analyst and Product Owner, you will work in the IT department and report directly to the IT Manager. You will be the vital link between our information technology and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our software. On top of those responsibilities you will be in charge from A to Z of one of our internal product.
Key activities in the position

- Be in charge from A to Z of one of our internal product
- Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
- Support in designing, documenting and maintaining system processes
- Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations
- Be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value
- Understand needs and facilitate the discussion of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders
- Identify the current- and future-state business processes and needs
- Be in charge of determining operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
- Improve systems, recommend controls, maintain system protocols
- Design new processes and defines project requirements
- Be responsible to the preparation of technical reports
- Support testing of new developments, in both preparation (writing of test cases, making test plans) and the performance of these tests
- Operate on the different IT systems (including on weekends and holidays) in case of emergency or exceptional business needs
- Perform any ad-hoc activities in relation to the Business Analyst and Product Owner's role
We are looking for someone with the following skills set
- Degree Education Level in IT/Computer Science (3 years after A-Level), or equivalent
- Have a degree in IT/Computer Science/Other and a proven experience in a similar role of +/- 5 years
- Be fluent in English with excellent written and spoken skills; knowledge of French would be an asset
- An experience in the energy market is welcomed
- Be an expert on database, MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Have strong command of Microsoft Office
- Able to work autonomously and to manage multiple interlocutors
- Have solid organisational skills and show an ability to handle multi-tasking
- Be solution oriented and show an analytical mind-set
- Be a reliable team member and demonstrate proactivity to get things done
- Have strong communication skills at all level of the organisation
Additional Requirement:
According to the Luxembourg law of July 23rd 2016 (as amended), the successful applicant will be required to provide a Criminal Record before signing the employment contract.
