The Specialist Cargo Claims and Insurance will support the Manager of the department in overseeing Cargo Claims and managing insurances in the Insurance Department. They will be responsible for ensuring efficient handling of claim processes, in particular cargo claims, and supporting Cargolux's insurance operations on a group level. The role is pivotal as a backup to the manager, notably for emergency response, and will require leadership skills, resilience under high-pressure, and a pragmatic problem-solver mindset.
Task responsibilities:Â
- Leadership: mentor other team members and new joiners, and contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Claims management: supervise the processing of various types of claims, especially cargo claims, including complex case review. Establish liabilities, produce statistical data and reports, …
- Aviation/non-aviation insurance:Â
- Rigorously contribute to various yearly insurance renewals and tenders
- Continuously be mindful of insurable risks
- Administer complex international insurance programs
- Prepare and present on trends, financial impacts and process improvements
- Projects: manage specific risk mitigation and loss prevention projects
- Compliance: ensure all activities comply with our internal policies and the international regulatory requirements
- Collaboration: liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders at all levels, streamline processes and contribute in enhancing the service delivered by our department
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Finance, Law or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Â
- Professional trainings particularly in insurance and liability law are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in insurance and/or claims management. Aviation and cargo insurance and/or claim handling experience is highly valued
- Languages: Fluency in English (mandatory); other EU languages (German, French, Luxembourgish, Dutch…) are a plus
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, permanent position based in Luxembourg
- Occasional travel may be required
- Flexibility may be needed with working hours
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
