On 18th April 2023, UNIQLO has announced they will be opening its first store in Luxembourg located in the heart of the city on Grand-Rue in Fall 2023. Given that the new store will have 3 floors, UNIQLO is looking to hire Sales Assistants, Tailoring Specialists, a Visual Merchandising Supervisor, an Assistant Store Manager, and a HR Store Administrator. All job opportunities can be found on Moovijob.com.
UNIQLO will be hosting a job dating event for Sales Assistant positions on Wednesday, 24th May 2023 and Wednesday, 7th June 2023. During the day, candidates will have the opportunity, in a relaxed atmosphere, to discover the brand, collaborate with other candidates, meet with the management team, and win prizes!
When we asked Angela Bulactial, who oversees the recruitment for all stores in Europe, if she had any advice for our readers, she shared that one of UNIQLO’s prime objectives is to be the most trusted brand in the world and therefore, the people they are looking for need to be genuinely passionate about helping others: customers and colleagues.
She also stressed the importance for each store to be a force for good in the community and therefore she encourages people with disability, with no retail experience or who have fled their country to apply.
Having expressed our surprise to Angela that UNIQLO does not offer the role of Store Manager, she explains to us that all Managers come from internal promotion and that the brand's aim is to make each of its employees to grow through highly structured monthly training and evaluations.
Angela is, herself, the product of this corporate culture which encourages everyone to surpass themselves and take on more responsibilities: “I joined UNIQLO just over nine years ago as a salesperson. It was my very first job. Within three years and after several promotions, I was an Assistant Manager in a large store on the outskirts of London. My role gave me the opportunity to explore multiple aspects of managing a business and to discover that I had a real passion for recruitment and staff development.
I therefore dedicated myself to the selection of talents for all our stores in the UK and more recently was entrusted with the whole of Europe. I look forward to meeting the candidates for our store in Luxembourg and to offering this opportunity to grow to as many people as possible.”
