At a time when companies are struggling to attract new talent and young people are seeking greater meaning in their future, one initiative stands out: dayCARE.
Designed as a bridge between the professional world and younger generations, this programme offers high school students aged 14 to 19 a one-day immersion in a company, while also supporting an international humanitarian project.
A first step into the professional world
After 16 highly successful editions, CARE Luxembourg, supported by the Maison de l’Orientation and the Chambre des Métiers, is offering a new version of this immersion day: dayCARE Hands-on. The aim is to introduce secondary school pupils aged 14 to 16 to arts and crafts careers at a crucial time in their professional orientation.
This edition of dayCARE Hands-on will take place on 20 May 2026. Across Luxembourg, hundreds of young people will have the opportunity to step through the doors of the company of their choice for a day of immersion. A short but decisive experience: it allows them to understand the day-to-day reality of a profession, speak with professionals and picture themselves in future training or apprenticeships.
Why companies should take part
For companies, dayCARE Hands-on is a win-win opportunity not to be missed.
In just one day, they can:
- Meet the motivated and curious talents of tomorrow;
- Present their professions and work environments;
- Boost their appeal to younger generations;
- Get involved in a charitable initiative with international impact;
- Contribute to the career guidance of young people seeking direction.
Two participation options available
For art & craft businesses: dayCARE Hands-On allows you to introduce young people aged 14 to 16 to your trades.
For companies in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sectors: Girls4STEM Day, in partnership with IMS, will enable you to present STEM professions to young secondary school students, particularly girls.
A solidarity initiative that makes a difference
dayCARE Hands-on goes beyond career guidance. It also carries a strong social commitment: companies that take on a young person agree to make a donation to CARE Luxembourg.
This initiative supports projects in Niger, Benin and Laos, in particular the training of healthcare workers to improve access to medical care. In this way, each internship becomes a concrete step towards a better future, both locally and globally.
Did you know? Moovijob.com has also been supporting this project since 2025.
