This article is the result of a second collaboration between Moovijob.com and an expert influencer of the Grand Duchy, @weloveluxembourg. In our previous article, we revealed the best places to go out in Luxembourg. Today, our article is for all of you who are parents and who would like to get some inspiration for indoor and outdoor activities to do with your children. Luxembourg is a multilingual country with a solid educational system and offers a lot of of activities for young and old alike.

Who is @weloveluxembourg?

Since 2018, Marine, a young French expatriate in Luxembourg, has been sharing her daily life with her 78k followers on Instagram on the account @weloveluxembourg.

Having always loved photography, she came up with the idea to create an account on this social network and share her experiences across the country.

Today, as a young mompreneur, the influencer is always ready to share her favorite places in the Grand Duchy with her community, but also to highlight activities, events, and small Luxembourgish businesses.

For the little ones

There are many indoor and outdoor activities to discover and experience together with your youngest children in the Grand Duchy and its surroundings.

Indoor

Try a baby gym or baby swimming classes to develop your little one's motor skills.

We recommend KindyROO, at the Cloche d'or, offering classes on 8 levels from birth to 5 years old. Discover also N'AIRGYM in Mondercange with its Baby Gym, Kids Gym and Airtramp for children from 12 months to 7 years old.

To experience a day full of fun and excitement, discover these indoor playgrounds:

  • Yoyo in Howald where you can immerse yourself into a dreamlike universe.
  • Fun City in Petange with its indoor playground, "Gold Rush", designed for children from 0 to 14 years old.
  • Funny Mountain in Arlon, on the Belgian border, with its climbing walls that are accessible for children from 5 years old.

Finally, to encourage their education from an early age on, visit the cité bibliothèque or the Cinema Paradiso - The Cinémathèque for children aged 3 to 11 with its screenings every Sunday at 3pm.

Looking for other ideas for indoor activities with children in Luxembourg? Try an afternoon at the Luxembourg City Theater or at a Trampoline Park, for example at the Jump!box in Contern.

Outdoor

To enjoy the outdoors with your family, there is nothing better than a relaxing walk in the forest or an afternoon at one of the many playgrounds in the parks of the Grand Duchy.

To get a breath of fresh air, we recommend you to visit the nature reserve of Haff Réimech in Remerschen, to go for a bike ride on the Moselle cycle track or to go to the Parc Le'h Adventures in Dudelange which offers more than 100 workshops and 7 courses accessible from 1 and a half years old.

For animal lovers, there are many fun activities such as pony riding or spending an afternoon on an educational farm.

Our recommendation: the not-to-be-missed Parc Merveilleux Bettembourg with almost 200 animal species from 5 continents.

If you love dogs and you can't adopt one, you can go to the animal shelter to walk one of the dogs there.

To end your day of excitement, you can enjoy a good pancake with a hot drink in a tree house, an experience offered by the Escher Bamhauscafé, which is located in the animal park Escher Déierepark. A paradise on earth for children.

For the bigger ones

Your children are older and you are looking for activities to share with them?

Here is a list of ideas, now all you need to do is choose one:

  • A bowling in Kockelscheuer offering 4 all-inclusive group packages and 2 birthday party packages for children from 6 to 14 years old.
  • A karting track in Mondercange, a fun experience for both children and parents.
  • An escape game at Crocus Quest Game with its 10 missions including 4 in virtual reality.
  • A game of tennis, squash or padel.
  • A movie session for a calmer moment.

For thrill seekers, a moment in Arlon at LUXFLY, a free fall simulator, will a great experience for the whole family (accessible from 4 years old)!

Finally, for young and old alike, plan a trip to the National Museum of Natural History located in the Grund district. We also recommend a visit to the exhibitions at the Mudam, Luxembourg's Museum of Contemporary Art, accessible from 6 years old or a visit to the Luxembourg Science Center in Differdange to discover its "Exploration"-rooms with a hundred interactive stations and daily workshops.
