Institutional and private sector partnerships, sponsored Chairs and a growing network of international partner universities make the FDEF a dynamic academic hub at the heart of Europe.
Your role
The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Werner Haslehner. The doctoral researcher's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Tax Law. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The candidate is expected to propose a research topic within the field of tax law to be developed in close discussion with the supervisor. Topics with particular relevance to Luxembourg and contributing to the development of Luxembourg legal doctrine are especially encouraged. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, typically in the form of small group teachings and tutorials.
Although the PhD is an individual project, the successful candidate will benefit from being embedded in a research group comprising several professors, PhDs and Postdoctoral Researchers working on questions of tax law. PhD researchers within the Department of Law will have access to events organized at the University and encouraged to take full advantage of active participation in academic conferences and seminars as part of their training.
